9-11

This is what 9-11 looked like on that awful day where I live.  I remember how peaceful the day was here.  The weather was beautiful.  It was such a sad day.  I found out from a mom dropping off her child to my in home pre-school.  My youngest son was home from school and video taped the scene so I could see it.   I remember my daughter calling me from Colorado.  I asked her to call her brother that was stationed in Hawaii at the time.  They were starting to get the news there.....very early in the morning.   I know one of my first thoughts were what this meant for our son, when our country would soon be at war.  He did end up serving two tours of duty in the Middle East.  It was such a scary time for a parent.  Our son is no longer in the service but still protecting our country.  God Bless all those who serve our country and protect us.

I have several other things to post about but they don't seem appropriate today.  Maybe tomorrow.

Your son be blessed! I was pregnant with Lola when it happened....I saw it on tv. I could not believe it when the towers fell. It was unreal and traumatizing. We should never have this happen again...I am so glad that this Country took care of it...Freedom is priceless.
Big hug from me.

Dear Debby, I'm so proud of your son. How scary that he was in the service at the time! My son has been a Marine for five years. I know Sept. 11 had a lot to do with it. I was sitting with all five kids huddled up in blankets in front of the TV. I was crying but they didn't all understand why. I watched the second plane hit the tower. Even the reporter didn't realize what was happening.

Thanks to our military..there have been no repeats of that sad day. The media never gives them enough credit for that or to our govt. for the last ten years. It's no accident that we are all safe and sound.

Debby, Thank you so much for your kind words on my recent post. Due to the "other" work my daughter does, individuals are out to destroy her who once were friends before becoming a police officer. Her Chief suggested she leave the area all together before her budding career could be sabotaged. It's been traumatic, but she is moving forward. I loved reading the funny questions asked of you by Cindy. What a hoot! Beautiful photo of you with your arms filled with flowers. Have a lovely Sunday! E
