March 1, a photo a day& Vulture Vomit

I saw this on another blog........a photo a day. I think it started before this month. I thought I'd join along. I'm not linking just doing it for the fun of it. Here is the link in case you are interested in it #marchphoto366@photo_366
Today the photo word is GREEN. So here is my Goose on a John Deere tractor showing you her John Deere shirt.
Okay my friends......I notice nothing different about Google or Blogger today. Did you experience anything different. The ones that commented said they had no idea about this happening. Maybe it's not. You can still read my posts on GFC , at least I think you can. Let's wait and see what happens.
Now is your chance to not read any farther...........esp. if you have a weak stomach......
WARNING
Vulture Vomit/Buzzard Poop 101
Vultures and buzzards are the same thing. The ones we have are turkey buzzards. They are the huge birds that circle something dead like road kill. And my folks, they eat that stuff. Then they come back to my house and roost in our trees. They like evergreen trees. Probably because they can stay warmer than other trees that do not have leaves in the winter. I have researched these birds and also had alot of phone calls out there to get help. I will get into that on another post.......it's complicated. These ugly birds are endangered because they are migraters. What....yes, that is true. They migrate from where before they get to my house for three months. They should be leaving soon. If not things may get serious around here.
Okay the vomit........the come back to roost and digest that dead crap they just ate. Then they vomit the rest up on our cars, house, sidewalk.....you got it. It is white and messy and gets all over the place. Sometimes you will see small body parts and fur and etc. So surprised that you all don't know all of this. Have you not ever been curious to find out these things. HAH. You can also register your roost. Hubby said not to in case they come to our house and see how we try to get rid of them. SO far we haven't killed any, so we are still legal. Okay I think that's all the information you can handle for now. Questions, anyone? Tomorrow or the next time I post I will tell you the suggestions given to us on how to get rid of them........this is actually very funny. I will try not to gross you out;

Buzzards 101 - haha - very funny since we don't have that problem! I do really feel for you, though - must be really gross and nasty - yuck! We see mostly hawks, eagles, and owls here - well, we hear the owls more than we see them :) Guess we're not on the buzzard/vulture migration path - thank goodness!
Thanks for stopping by to see my way overdue swap posts! I'm putting in the links now.
Didn't notice anything different today, but they said, I think, that if our blog is on Blogger we won't be affected. Hope not!
xoxo Jane

Lol ~ I just read a comment you left on another post and was lured in by the promise of vulture vomit. ;) I'm laughing now, but that's only because I don't have regurgitated body parts splattered all over my car... ;)

Goose is just darling!

I didn't notice anything different today on Blogger, so I hope all will be well.

Oh no! If you got rid of the evergreens (Idk how many you have) would that help?

That's actually pretty interesting. When my son was in 4th grade they dissected owl pellets in science. Lots of interesting things in there, too, like little mouse bones, etc. Didn't know other birds of prey did this.

I am an animal lover just as you are, but I do think that the protection thing has gone way overboard..I do hope they leave soon. xo

Ohhh Debby, I would think that this buzzard vomit is a health hazard and good ground for some definite action to get rid of them. Anyone who wants to preserve them, please come and get them. Take them away. Yewww....

About Google, the only thing that I noticed lately is the two word verification are easier to recognized without the black blob and the Choose an identity looks different. Today the new private policy goes into effect. Google is recording your every click and storing them to better serve you apparently according to the news.

Love the girl, the shirt and the john Deer. Hope you are feeling all better. JB

:) Now that is what I call a down to earth post!! Got me laughing, that's for sure.
Yep, sound gross as all get out..but nature is like that. Especially wild animal (fowl)nature.
I had to smile at the little John Deere tractor. My husband has a John Deere bike that he loves and rides 14 miles every other day or so. :)
People stare at it but he loves it!

Do you live near Timbuk the Christmas tree farm? I thought that was closer to Alexandria? You mentioned in another post that is why there were so many evergreen trees. That is disgusting with them vomiting on all of your cars and houses! Do they do this every year? Btw, your granddaughter looks so much like you!~Hugs, Patti

Oh my goodness! I would just die if I saw that stuff from those birds! Yuck! Hopefully, they will move on. I've seen them around here on ocassion. Your little granddaugher looks adorable on her tractor!

How cute is she, Debby! She's a blonde, blue-eyed cutie like my granddaughter. Blonde tends to run in the family as children, but then darkens over time. She is blonder than others were, so I'm hoping she keeps her blonde hair.

I'm jumping from my home stuff, to doing stuff for my daughter and then stuff for my Etsy. I'm sure I'll burn out at some point! : ) Although, there are days when I'm just not feeling it and that's when I do a couch potato day.

I had not heard that about the vomit. We don't have them here in AK but we did in CA. They never did come that close however and sit in trees in our yard I guess I was lucky then. They remained fascinating large birds off in the distance and would roost in trees along the freeway. They are very useful however eating up the dead things they have a place. The problem is as always too many of a good thing and that goes for us too.
Yes I notice the different look to blogger.

I remember when we saw those vultures...I was so excited calling all the kids....we had no idea what they were and they were vultures!!

Your little cutie on the Deere is so sweet.
We have turkey vultures visit often but not at this time of year yet. I haven't had the yucky experience but I often see them "dining" on the road. I am awed by the wingspan. I figure they are like the clean up crew for the poor little road kill creatures and those that are unfortunate enough to be caught too. The ways of nature are often unsanitary,
I just go with the flow. Hoping our animals don't blow away with us in the crazy weather tonight. Hugs, Pam

adorable granddaughter!
I've never noticed any

do have American Bald
Eagles and other raptors.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Debby!

Ewwww, you describe that so well. We, too, have a vulture problem. We, too, will not be registering our flock, herd, whatever you want to call them. I have never seen what you describe, though, because if I had, I'd probably be in jail.

Oh, Debby....what yuck you have to cope with...but I do not know which is worse: posting a shot a day or putting up with the vulcher vomit and buzzard poop. I started out trying to do the one a day photo thing and made it through a couple of months and then I threw in the rag. It was way too much for me. Even the blogging right now is a bit much. I go to UVA in a month. I cannot wait. I am up and down whether at work or at home. The med has those horrible side effects, but I am trying to take it. The spasms are not s bad and will calm if I lie down but they still come on all the time. Take care...hope all is well. genie
