Beautiful gardens

I added a fence to my fairy garden.  I also painted flowers on the crate where the lettering is.The rest of these pictures are from a friends' home and gardens.  Considering the plant date for our area is this week-end, she has a head start.  She is single and her home is quite the place to go.  She has a fire pit area with tons of chairs that the neighbors and her friends gather around.  She also has three ponds.  You can't tell how big this Koi is but it is huge.  She has a swinging outdoor bed.  Such a fun place.  She wasn't home when Goose (in her jammies) and I walked over.  She had a party the night before, I could tell, he he.

This wagon was one of the wee ones.  She wasn't done planting......as I can see the flower containers.

She has lots of these chairs in different places around her property.

Thought these pots were cute.  The next picture is at Goose's house.

This is a flamingo.....you have to look closely.  She puts shiney gems around her gardens so the kids can look for treasures.  She is so  sweet to my granddaughters.  She is so giving.  She just became a grandmother for the first time.  She wasn't expecting to have any.  She will shower that little girl with lots of love and she will love coming to see her grammy.

Updates:  I think I have returned to normal after Mothers' Day.  It always shakes me up a little.

So far we haven't gotten scarlet fever from our granddaughter.....although I keep thinking I am getting it.

The Springfield Antique and Vintage Show is starting Friday.  I can't wait.  It's an hour and a half, I think, from where I live.  I want to go two of the days but can't seem to make any final decisions.  I thought I had a hotel  I was so excited because they have been all sold out.  Well, I entered the wrong date, so I don't have a room.  It's okay, I will figure something out.

Well, I need to get busy.  I am feeling a bit lazy these days.  SO much to do but so little ambition.

Mothers Day Week-end

This was my Mothers Day Week-end.  I went to the barn sale.  Lots of industrial things.  Little things like gears and things.  What do people do with these things.  Lots of wooden boxes.  I bought a little wooden drawer with dividers.  That's all.
We watched our sweet granddaughters on Saturday.  They helped fix breakfast for us.  Then we all went to Goose's soccer game.  So funny.  The kindergarteners played first graders.  The girls were so much bigger and better.  But our Goose figured out how to stop them.  She would guard the goal.  I guess you don't have goalies at this age.  But Goose kept guard and stopped them from scoring.  She was so funny.  And she scored one of the couple of goals on her team.
On Sunday we went to see our moms.  Hubby to the nursing home and me with my mom.  They live close by each other but a couple of hours away from us.   My cousin (sister of Jo), Mom and I went out for dinner.  This was a picture taken at St. Patrick's Day.  Mothers Day always comes with mixed feelings for me.  Visits with my Mom aren't always cheerful.  My husband always tries to make it special for me. 
I talked to all of my children on Sunday.  I wish I could have been with them.  Someday we will do that.  My daughter turned 40 on Friday.  I just don't know how that could be.  How can I be old enough (61) to have a daughter that old. 
It has been fun reading all the Mothers Day posts.  So many special memories.  Here's to a good week ahead for al of us.

My Fairy Garden

A little tour......so much left to do, but it is a start.

I am still tweaking my fairy garden.  It was so much fun to do that I want to make more.  I am going to paint some flowers on the side of the box.  I copied the box idea from what I saw at the farm sale.

Part two of the Antique and Garden Sale

More pictures for you from last week-end.  I still haven't gotten this new blogger format down yet.  I can't seem to write where I want and never sure where the pictures will come up.  I sure love this color of blue.

This kitty sat at the checkout table like nothing was going on.  The kitty got lots of attention.  Hmmmmm, wonder who this handsome guy is.  The guys below are from Folk magazine.  The one in shades is the editor.  They may be smiling but I think they were annoyed with me by having to pose.

The house picture is actually where the owners of the farm live.  They were featured in April's issue of Country Living.

Don't you love the chicken on the roof.  Also love the sign about cowboys. 

The above pictures were of the little stash of things I brought home.  I know "big spender".......
The picture was taken from the internet and put on canvas and placed in a French frame.  I loved the picture but wanted to know more.  The owners of "Three Ring Circus" said they were just looking for circus things.  Wel, hello, girls..........you need to talk to a real clown that has lots of contacts......I gave them my card.
My friend, Sue, said she was looking for trophies.  I wasn't but when I spotted this.....and saw the name Max......and then as a bonus the dog was a Springer Spaniel.......I knew I had to have it.  Even my husband got a chuckle out of that.  My Dad's name was Max and so is my grandson's.
A cute little doggie and a couple paperback vintage books......Mother Goose (a character I do) and Pokey Little Puppy(my favorite childhood book) just made me smile.  I love seeing all the big pieces, furniture and etc., but I have and still am downsizing.
 I have no room for "big" things and that's okay, I can look.

Updates:
I am excited to show you what I have been painting.  Not finished yet thanks to the rain.  We had a perfect painting outside day on Sunday but rain ever since.  I found a piece of "junk" according to my husband in the garage. He wasn't happy when I asked him to pull it out.   Then I almost fell backwards over a ladder.  He caught my fall.   I made a fairy garden and now I want to do more.  Addicting and so much fun.  Thinking of making my mother one for Mother's Day.  She never likes anything I give her......even tells me so......do I chance it or not?
We celebrated our youngest son's birthday last night.  He was 26.  He wanted to eat at Olive Garden.  Haven't been there in ages.....the breadsticks just drive me crazy not being able to eat them.  Celiac is not fun.....I know it could be a whole lot worse.  I made him some gluten-free cupcakes because that's what I had at home in the pantry.  I didn't tell him....wonder if he will notice.
Our little town is having a circus.  The elephants led the circus into town last night.  I really want to go so I can see the clowns.  My granddaughters can't go......their mom said they don't support circus because of the use of animals.  I never put that much thought into that part but now that I have I can see her point.  Mixed feeling for sure.

The Rural Society Garden and Antique Sale

Goodness, I am having lots of issues posting today.  Here are part of the pictures.  I guess there will be a part two coming later.  There were lots of beautiful flowers.  There was a big crowd and lots to choose from.  It was hot.  I met my friend Sue from Sullivan and Murphy.  We always have a fun and crazy time.  Her sweet husband was with her.   The three of us had a good time.  We didn't buy very much.  It's just fun seeing what the vendors have and what people buy.  I will show you what I got when Blogger is nice to me.  We got a couple of hot dogs and a muffin and we ate in the greenhouse.  Yes, it was hot in there.  A chicken wandered in.  Sue ran to take a picture.  All of a sudden that chicken or rooster was squawking and running.  He /she was leading Sue on a chase.  We wish we'd had that on video.  We continued to shop making friends with all the farm animals.  The atmosphere is peaceful and creatures everywhere.  The owners home, milk house, outbuildings have been featured in Country Living this year. 

I loved these little container gardens.  They were like fairy gardens with different themes.  The container part reminded me of small sand and water tables.

Love this one.  I may try to do this.

We then drove back to Granville through the country side.( But before we got out of town, Sue saw a pizza shop and got a pizza to go.  I ate my yogurt and banana since I can't eat pizza.)    We thought that the barn sale on Burg Street was going on.  Well, we pull into the farm, got out and kept saying HELLO.  You could hear something......I think they were afraid of us and by rites they should have.  We decided that they were not having the sale, obviously.  I thought  maybe it was today but it is actually next week-end......we found out later. So we went to the estate sale for the Buxton Inn.  Beautiful furniture and prices were quite high.  Next stop was Whitts' Custard.  I think that Sue's husband thought this was the highlight of the day.  We always have so much fun.....sometimes a little crazy.  What a great couple to spend time with.

I am so excited.  The spring sales are starting.  This week-end the farm sale in Mt. Vernon and tag and garage sales in Granville.  Next week is the French Hen Barn sale in Marysville.  Then the following week-end (I think) in Springfield is the big antique and now vintage sale.  I have never been to that one but hoping to go this year.  Even though I am not a big spender I love going to see what they have.

I worked alot on our front porch yesterday.  It is so long and skinny with pillars.  I have wicker furniture that would look so nice but not putting it out again this year.  We have such moldy weather here.  This porch is a pain.  The walk to the door gets small when you put furniture on the porch.  I have lived here forever and still don't have a handle on it.  I should post a picture and ask for help.  I have a long antique bench on one end and now I put the "plastic" chairs on the porch.  I know, plastic. but they are comfy.     I scrubbed them yesterday.  Then we had monsoon rain last night so they got a good rinsing.
I will post pictures.
I tried to start some painting yesterday.  The blue chippy doll high chair got way too chippy and rusted.  So it got some paint on it before the rain.  Have other things I need to paint.
So I may actually have some projects to show you soon.
Well, dearies, off to get this day moving.
