Mothers Day Week-end

This was my Mothers Day Week-end.  I went to the barn sale.  Lots of industrial things.  Little things like gears and things.  What do people do with these things.  Lots of wooden boxes.  I bought a little wooden drawer with dividers.  That's all.
We watched our sweet granddaughters on Saturday.  They helped fix breakfast for us.  Then we all went to Goose's soccer game.  So funny.  The kindergarteners played first graders.  The girls were so much bigger and better.  But our Goose figured out how to stop them.  She would guard the goal.  I guess you don't have goalies at this age.  But Goose kept guard and stopped them from scoring.  She was so funny.  And she scored one of the couple of goals on her team.
On Sunday we went to see our moms.  Hubby to the nursing home and me with my mom.  They live close by each other but a couple of hours away from us.   My cousin (sister of Jo), Mom and I went out for dinner.  This was a picture taken at St. Patrick's Day.  Mothers Day always comes with mixed feelings for me.  Visits with my Mom aren't always cheerful.  My husband always tries to make it special for me.
I talked to all of my children on Sunday.  I wish I could have been with them.  Someday we will do that.  My daughter turned 40 on Friday.  I just don't know how that could be.  How can I be old enough (61) to have a daughter that old.
It has been fun reading all the Mothers Day posts.  So many special memories.  Here's to a good week ahead for al of us.

What a lovely post Debby! Your granddaughters are just adorable and I love seeing their pictures. Happy Birthday to your daughter.
How can you and I be in our 60's? Remember, we might be older but we're just getting BETTER!

The granddaughters are always so sweet. It looks like you had a busy enough Mother's Day and that you got red roses.

I detect a bit of sadness at having a less than cheerful visit with your Mom and at the realization that you are no longer young all of a sudden.

I hope that you have a nice day today. At least the buzzards are gone. Hugs. JB

Oh what fun going to a barn sale for your special weekend.

I stayed home and worked with my man, putting in a brick courtyard in our tiny front yard. It's strange living on a large piece of property with a tiny front yard. . . . but anyway, like you, I got to spend it doing what I wanted!

And to spend time with your grandchildren. . . . . . marvelous!

Sounds like a great weekend, your grandchildren are always so cute! I got started late but could easily have one turning 40, mine is just finishing the "terrible 20's" we survived !! E

Interesting time of life...grandbabies and older parents, and "kids" turning 40?! Mine are mid-30s, and I assure you, I am NOT old enough to have kids that old!! :) Happy belated mother's day :) ~Zuni
PS We did the French Hen Farm barn sale instead; it was nice.

Try 73 with my daughter 49. It is painful. Glad you all had such a nice day. I, too, got to talk to the kids. Now, your wish is my command. I will put the picture on a flash drive and take it to Wally World and have one made for you. What do you want....I aim to please: 8X10, 5X7, 4X whatever. Also do you want me to send the Heidi book onto you? Hope all is well. We about was away all day yesterday and a lll night. Were 1 hour late this morning because of high water, and now NOA is forecasting more flooding this afternoon and night so are getting out an hour early. We are saturated and have already lost another inch off the creek bank. It never get to house, hank goodness. genie

Happy Belated Mothers Day, Debby. I can't believe you have a 40 year old child! But then again, if I had had children, I could have a 40 year old myself. I turn 60 later this year.

Mothers Day is always a bit tricky emotionally, don't you think?

Sounds like you had a great mother's day weekend. So nice to spend time with family and I miss the days of soccer games. Hoping one of my grandkids decides that is THEIR passion. You are a busy girl going to all the barn sales and fleas etc. You are my hero.
