Surgery went well. The tear was large but repaired. Now some therapy and hopefully he will not have to proceed with the replacement for a couple of years.
We had a hard time getting his one leg out of my car (a bug) when we got home. Ooops. Then he tried his crutches on the snow/ice. We decided that walking on his knee was better than falling backwards. He had to walk quite a little distance to the front door and up seven steps........but he did it and doing good so far.
The kids have called and Little Miss K. Bug brought him a Frosty and gave him hugges and kisses.
Thanks for your thoughts and prayers.

Hi Debby, Glad all went well w/your husband's surgery. I know what you mean about getting out of a tight situation with no mobility. Remember I told you about my husband's surgery last year? Just tell him to be aggressive in his PT! It will pay off. :-)
After cleaning all my kitchen tile grout on hands and knees, I know I'll probably be wanting to see my ortho soon! I tore my ACL years ago and we opted to do PT and no surgery. Now, the ligaments are over-stretched and that knee buckles every so often. While I know I won't be needing a replacement, I know some arthroscopic work will have to be done on BOTH knees. Too many years of high impact aerobics have done their damage! LOL
Isn't this weather warm-up nice? It's just a tease, I know....
Take care. ~ Sue

Goodness! We know what you are going through. My husband just had his left knee operated on in August of 2010 and now it's as if it never happened. He went to his weekly therapy religiously and did his exercises faithfully every day and today you would never know he ever had it done. The scar is very light and he walks without a sign of a limp!

I had to laugh because I had the same exact problem getting Howard into the car at the hospital and out of the car and into the house at home. Thank heavens there was only the one step into the house..and NO ice or snow. Talk about a challenge. I thought ours was bad. You two did fantastically!! :)

I love you stopping by and commenting... :) Makes me feel good and I loved your hug!
Hugs back!

I'm glad it went well. I hope he continues to improve daily.

You'd think they'd make YakTrax for crutches, wouldn't you!

Oh Debby, What a challenge! I know we had trouble getting my dad up and down the stairs after his hospitalization last year. I'm glad he's recovering and hope it's a quick one.

How exciting to have deer AND snow in your yard! I bet you enjoyed watching them. :o)
