We moved this couch to make room for a hand me down chair. Weird getting hand me downs from your kids. The chair will need a makeover or a slip cover but it is comfy. The chair plus this couch may be passed on after the holidays to our other son. BUT, do you see the problem. The picture and the plates are way off center now. I don't want to move them (I would most likely need to paint the whole wall). Okay, what should I add to the other side. This star......it is pretty big. Or how about the wall hanging that I won from Donna.
Not sure about the colors?????? Or another thought, I have some wall words I could put up. One is in gold letters and may be a bit large......or.......I have a smaller one in black lettering. The latter one is removeable the other isn't. I hadn't used the other one because we thought we were moving. I wish I could find some smaller plates like the other ones. (The color of this wall is COZY BLANKET) Any advice would be so appreciated. Thanks ladies.

Is there any way you can leave the couch there and angle the chair on the other side of the hutch? It is kind of hard to tell without seeing the rest of the room.
Debby, Your house could be my house! It seems extra furniture is always ending up here and causing havoc with my decorating (what little there is) If the couch may move back soon, perhaps adding the words will make that difficult? I am not good at this at all, hence the blank walls at my house! Thank you so much for the open house information. I will have to tell my husband. Have a great week! Elizabeth
Debby well you said you don't want to move the picture and plates but here is my suggestion. The plates would look better on the sides of the picture instead of having them in a row at the bottom. I see there is an uneven number of them too which is another balance problem. So if you love them there I would put the star on the right side of the picture for now. PS I'm no decorator lol.. Nan
i hear you on making due for now... not sure how big the star actually is but I like the idea of using the star WITH the smaller wall words to continue the wall collage feel. I am not sure the wall hanging would work as well.
How about another picture, about the same size?! It may need something about the same size to balance it...maybe something super cheap from the thrift store?? Maybe a mirror??
It's hard to know...just play around until you like it.
Deb :)
Debby honey
I can not really tell by just this one angle of your room but I would hang the gift from Donna.
It is so beautiful and could be enjoyed by everyone hanging there.
Anyway I know how you feel. Going through the same thing in my house and I hate not knowing what looks good.
Love
Maggie
Thanks everyone. I will play around with it. I think the star or another picture is the first thing I will try. Maybe the wallhanging. The words won't work as they both are not removeable. Thanks my friends.
Great suggestions from the group--I'm looking forward to seeing what finally balances your wall decor. Playing around with the possibilities always seems to give me the best results!
More plates. I love plates.
Hi Debby,
It sounds like you already have some good advice, I think what Kim wrote is a good one, will you show us pictures? Also, since yesterday I wanted to say, I really like your new profile photo! Hope you have a good evening, Maureen x
I seem to be having trouble blogging every day and visiting all my friends. Still, I did want to come and say hello. Happy end of fall, my friend.
