Surgery Woes

Izabella (Izzy) has her dental surgery tomorrow. I don't know how many teeth they will pull this time. When she was three she had eight pulled. I know that she has 4 bad ones now. Izzy is 7. Because of her breathing and liver problems this is risky. You can see her belly is still puffy. I can't wait to see if she has lost weight since we have reduced her food intake. The next two pictures aren't great but just wanted to show her belly.
Brett had his surgery yesterday. They put the rod down his femur (just like they did my mother last year) . They also put him in another cast. They were able to take away the deformed bone. I haven't heard what they will do next. Thank you for your prayers.
I am having surgery next friday on my finger. It's just a minor surgery. somewhat like carpal tunnel surgery. Because I am old, I have to have alot of pre-op tests. That part I don't like.
Updates: The first of the hearts have arrived. They are so cute.......Jan does such beautiful work.
The new kids started yesterday. I was exhausted. When their mom picked them up they told her they didn't want to go home, hah. Their mom posted on her FB page that she knew that was a good sign. They come on the days that the girly girls don't come. It is a full house here but I still take Fridays off.
We have a pumpkin from Halloween that keeps being moved around . I came home and it was on the porch. It wasn't there when I left. I think it is a deer.......I don't think the squirrel could do that.
Do any of you have problems going to sleep........I always have but it has gotten so much worse. Any tips that help you.
Our crazy weather........freezing rain last night and alot of it.........now lots of rain all day. I can't believe how much snow has fallen in Washington and where Nan lives in Alaska.
Okay, I know this is boring today........so off to read Brenda, Claudia and the others posts about being frugal........it's a good thing because I have that" I got to go shopping feeling" going on.
I think it's because of suddenly stopping the holiday shopping.
Hope the weather in your neck of the world is kind to you this week-end.

How you are not able to sleep after all you do is a mystery to me!;-) Hope that your surgery gets your hand back to normal. You do lovely work, even with a painful hand, think of what you'll be able to accomplish when all is well again. Sending you good thoughts and prayers. Love, Penny

Oh, you are not having a great week, are you? I'm sorry you have to have surgery, but it sounds like it's not so bad and will give you some relief.

Glad the hearts got to you!

I'll be thinking about you this week, my friend.

Oh, and I can't help with the falling asleep thing. My brain has a hard time shutting off, too. BUT sometimes if I read for an hour (NOT in bed) and then hit the sack, it works. Good luck

Believe me, I feel Izzy's pain. I am still not dancing on tables almost a week out after my procedure! Hope all goes well with your finger surgery! This weather is a little sucky, isn't it? Dark and gloomy for sure! My little girls need to have their teeth checked again...it's been 2 years and I fear something is rotten in Denmark! ~Hugs, Patti

It's cold here, Debby! I'm with you-I don't sleep well at all. It gets worse year by year.

I am saying a little prayer for Izzy AND for Brett and for YOUR upcoming surgery. God bless. Make sure you don't cave in and give your Fridays away to work! xo Diana

Hope all the surgeries go well. xx

As for getting to sleep - I mentally redecorate the house from top to bottom. I rarely reach downstairs.

Otherwise, try being very aware of the bed supporting your body. It helps the body to relax.

Good luck.

Wow, lots of surgeries going round! I hope everyone, including the pup, is feeling well soon.

I don't have an answer for the insomnia although I do suffer from it from time to time. Sometimes reading helps, although there have been times when I started painting at 2:30 am because I didn't know what else to do!

Bless your heart. I loved the pumpkin story. (Too tired to comment much - it was a Cate day. She had to keep waking me up!)

The rod down the femur sounds painful. Hope he's feeling better today. Glad the new kids are having fun at your house. I always knew you were a fun lady!

Have been thinking about your baby. Hope all is going well. I feel so sorry for him. My hearts are done and now I need to know what you want me to do with them. I did make the 6 and will post photos tomorrow. NO back spasms after 20 years and 10 years of +15 pain. All it took was a scholiosis specialist to put me on an anti-spasm drug - Neurontin - 7.00 for 30 with 11 refills. No spasms. It is a miracle. No more hydrocodone. I am a human being again after all of these years and do not know what to do with myself. There is more to the story but will e-mail you the details. Just wanted you to know my goodies are ready to go into the mail. XOXOXXO Genie
