Sleep overs

I am still here.  This is a busy summer.  The above are cakes for the new baby due in August.  The toppers were mine and you have seen them before.  I thought and thought about what would work for cake toppers.  Since this was the only thing I could do, I chose these.  I thought they looked really cute.
We have had sleep overs all week long.  Not pictured were Laken and her brothers.  They are on my phone.  I got an smart phone at last.  Not the latest expensive type but just perfect for me.  But, I still don't know how to post from my phone or I pad.  The girls above are sitting in my new chair and a half.  I love it.  I can sit with the grands or both dogs or have two sweet girls sit in it together.

These are our overnighters for tonight.  My K-Bug on the right.  Her parents are out of town with Goose so we get her, yippee.  So funny that her two best friends are our best friends daughters.  You ask, "What are they doing?"  One of my Shirley Temple Facebook groups are doing a Flat Shirley.  Have you heard of Flat Stanley?  Well, it is where the Shirley travels to different states.  Whoever is the hostess takes pictures of taking Shirley places or what she does in your home.  Yes, I feel like I am in the first grade.  My grands think it is funny.
We just returned from Tumbleweeds and to see "Finding Dorie".  We went to the game room for a few minutes but left rather quickly.  The girls were getting looks from boys.  A girl came up and asked how old our granddaughters were.  When we said 12 she took off to tell her friends.  K. Bug's friend is only 12 and about 5'8".  Goodness, I am not ready for this stage at all.
So what else have I not told you.....hmmmmmm  I had a big day at the dentist.  Glad that is over.  I went to my rheumatologist for the follow up on the third blood test that was positive for a marker. But nothing came out positive and I am released.  That's a relief.  I haven't had any of the other issues.  My side and hip pain has left.  I am really thinking I had kidney stones even though the scan was negative.  It may have been too late for anything to show up.    So I am back to my old self.
We finally got the boxes unloaded from the spare bedroom.  Good thing because of the sleepovers.  I was gifted beautiful quilts for the beds.  Hopefully I will be able to share those someday when I figure the posting pictures thing soon.
This coming week is my husband's last week and then he retires.  Well, he did say he would work a couple days a week.  I am so excited for him to for the first time ever not to be working 10 hour days.  I think wants he gets the great feeling of waking up when you want and not having to have your day dictated to you.  Well the dogs do dictate our days but that is different.
S0, I hope you are all enjoying your summer.  The heat is not my friend but I have plenty of things to do to avoid as much as possible.
Be back sooner than this last time.

No worries

It has been awhile since I have posted.  I spent a week being ill and another week trying to find out why.  But I am okay, no answers, just going to monitor if the symptoms return.  No matter how hard you try to be positive you still worry.  This time I think I worried more than I thought.  I slept for two days after the last test.  I didn't have an sedation or medication to make me sleepy. That is a lot of sleep for someone that has a hard time falling asleep.
I spent time reading posts but not always replying.  I had two dogs sitting on me most of the time.  We finally curbed the old recliner and got a new one.  It is a chair and a half (room for dogs and grands) and it is electric.  I am loving it. The dogs still try to claim my body for a dog bed but they are learning.
I should have taken this pictures earlier.  We didn't get any rain for three weeks but finally got some this week-end.  There was rain all around us.  Thank God not the flooding in other areas.  I hope all my Texas friends are okay.
It has been fun watching on the colors pop up in our flower bed.  I am so not a gardener and this is really fun.  Now you will see my empty wagon.  I can't find my fairy garden things.  My cute little house and camper and all the accessories are just missing.  I will go ahead with the new things I got and the plants before they die.  They will show up eventually.
I missed two sales that I look forward to (again) this week-end.  But Sunday I got a text from someone I met on a Facebook Shirley Temple group.  She asked if I was at the doll show in Columbus.  I said that I thought it was only on Saturday.  But it was yesterday too.  So I jumped in the shower and drove the 30 minutes to get there.  I only stayed an hour but made a couple purchases and saw not only the lady that texted me but some of my doll club members.

Here is my new Shirley.  This is my first composition one.  I never bought one before because of the price.  This was one I could afford.  I like that she is a little one.  She does need a little TLC.  I love Skippy and Patsy dolls.  I also got a look alike Patsy type.  They are unmarked and usually older than the others.  I spotted her and just loved her eyes.  The lady that sold her and I both thought what good shape she was in for being from the 1920's.

Doesn't she have pretty eyes.  Well I learned one thing yesterday.  When you go to these shows you need to bring your own totes and packaging.  Because if you look at her left arm you will see that some of it is missing.  This poor doll made it all those years without an injury and in my hands for 30 minutes and look what happened.  The plastic grocery bag broke and she fell to the ground as I got into my car.  Another little figurine broke as well.  Thank good Shirley was on the top of the bag and she was okay.  I will fix her arm and get her a long sleeve dress.  She will stay with me.
Have you seen the video of the little girl that has an artificial leg, getting an American Girl doll that also has one.  I know these dolls are so overpriced and made in China but they are special dolls.  They will be the next collector items if they keep retiring ones and bring new ones back.
Well, you all doll lovers so I will stop for now.
Here's to a better week for us all.
Hugs
