Closing 2011 and moving on to 2012

These beautiful pictures seem like a great way to close a year and move onto a new one. They are from the Red Rocks in Colorado.
It seems like it has been hard for me to start the New Year. Maybe because I was gone for a week. But, I am ready now. I can't come up with a word for the year. There are many things that I want to accomplish this coming year. I want to "move more"......to exercise more. I need to have my ankle checked out first. I want to continue to improve my diet. Going gluten-free has not been easy. Now I want to cut way back on sugar.
I want to "paint". On my list is our master bedroom and the little bedroom on our main level. I also have little accent pieces lined up. I just can't seem to narrow down a paint color. I am going to do what Nate Bercus says........to pick out an inspiration piece and go from there. Not stopping there with paint. I want to do more art/craft projects.
I also want to be more "helpful." I want to be there when someone needs help.
As I look back on last year there were good things that happened along with the sorrow. Having our grands all together for the first time was the highlight of the year for me. I know that this year will have it's ups and downs and I know their will be struggles, that's just life.
So bring on the new year and I hope I will have lots to share with you.
I want to thank all of you for your sweet comments and for being there for me. I enjoy reading about your lives and seeing all your pictures. Blogging is a wonderful experience.
Happy To You. (My two year old grandson sings this all the time)

Happy to you! Yes, 2012 is going to be a great year. We all have so many plans and some do fall by the way side. I figure if I get one thing on my bucket list accomplished I'm happy! This is the year for my kitchen remodel to be done, 2 years in the making. Remember paint isn't final! That silly green wall in my living room went through three paintings before I got it right. Here's to a great 2012! Hugs!!

Did you know the Nate Berkus show was cancelled?? I would like to do some painting this year too.

Paint is difficult I say. It always looks one way in a photo of a room painted that color you like and on a paint chip that is actually on your walls. Try to buy tiny amounts of it first if you can where you live, paint it on leaving it to watch a few days and look at it in different lights as colors change with the light.
Very good about the sugar Debi we should not be having sugar in our diets at all but I find I can have them in very limited amounts as treats for eating such a good diet. We can't lock everything good away from ourselves. As a person who ate lots of sugar in my lifetime and love it I make deals with myself. One square of the 'good chocolate' or just one cookie in a day. This works really well for me. You will know where you have to draw the line. Nan

Those are great goals :) Wishing you lots of success and love. I love the Nate Berkus show. Got cancel? Read it from one of your readers. Hope not.
Let's make it a good year :)
I had to reduce sugar intake so much because of the Diabetes. You can do it :)
Love you

Happy to you, too, Debby!;>) I am off to see a specialist about my ankle tomorrow...so I hope you can find out about yours, too!

I have a ton of stuff I want to get done this year but I haven't defined it with a word yet. I guess I should do that.

I just noticed in one of the comments here that Nate Berkus's show was cancelled? I am sad to hear that- I really like him/his show~

I hope you have a wonderful Sunday, Debby! xo Diana

Debby,
I have seen those red rocks of Colorado. I saw the garden of the gods. They are strange but beautiful. I wish you great luck picking a color. That's hard for me. But Nate's way sounds good. Can't wait to see what you do. Smiles, Susie (She Junks)

You have a lot of great goals...many of them are mine, too. I have a problem I have to get checked out, too, before I can start to exercise. I have two big projects lined up and several small. Let the year begin {or continue as it were}!!

Love your stunning pictures, Debby!

XO,
Jane

Hi Debby, Your pictures brought back memories of one of our Colorado trips when our daughter ice skated in her younger years. Hope the year 2012 brings all of us many accomplishments that we want to happen. Have about buying a small quantity of the colors you like and putting small patches on the wall to see which one you like best. Have a great week. Your Missouri Friend.

Colorado is sooo beautiful--that area particularly! It brings back some good memories to see your photos.

Looks to me like "accomplish" is your word for 2012!

I just read your post and there is so much I want to say. So many of us have similar plans..and like you I want to be more helpful..and to take care of my own health by "moving around more". I had to smile at that.
One thing about painting Debby, is that it is one thing in life you can do over. The results are not forever. It's going to all turn out beautiful!
Hugs and thank you so much for stopping by and taking the time to comment.
Love and hugs!
