A dear friend of mine has a daughter recently diagnosed with Hodgkin's Disease. Not the Non-Hodgkin's one. She has questions about the treatment. Her daughter is having round 2 of her chemo and is supposed to have 7 more. (That seems like alot to me)..She is in Stage 1 but close to Stage 2. I am looking for someone that she might contact to ask questions. I can imagine as a mom how hard it must be. Please let me know if you have any information.
Heartfelt thanks.

I've read that the Cancer Treatment Centers of America have great success with difficult cancers. Not only the latest treatments but whole body/person care. I am so sorry this happened and
I will add her to my prayer list.
I am so sorry. I will keep her in my prayers.
I would contact the patient advocate at the medical facility where she is being treated. The advocate should be able to set up a meeting with whatever experts she would need to talk to. Sometimes hospitals even have a facilitator who can set up a meeting with another patient who is being successfully treated for the same disease. I hope she tolerates the treatment well and is in remission soon.
I'm sorry about your friend's daughter being sick with Hodgkins cancer.
You might find some info on the web but be careful where you get your info. I wonder if the Cancer society would be able to enlighten you.
Prayers for the daughter.
Hugs,
JB
So sorry about your friend's daughter. I know quite a bit about cancer and treatments, however since our grandson didn't survive it, I am reluctant to talk to people. I want them to have someone with a success story to talk and counsel with. Our local hospital has a group that talks to parents within 48hours of diagnosis of cancer. They ask me to work for them, but I just didn't feel like I could go in and visit with them and then them ask me the outcome of Landen. So, check with the hospital and see if they don't have an organization like that.
Blessings to you for wanting to help
Judy
Hi Debby- I don't know a lot about it but I will tell you what I do know about cancer in children. One of the reasons they use very aggressive treatment in children is because cancer moves very quickly in children because they are still in a growth stage. That means that everything (including cancer) moves at an accelerated pace. They want to nip it in the bud so that it doesn't grab hold and use those growth hormones to spread the cancer. I know it seems harsh but better harsh now and life saving than slower and having a chance of it getting a foothold. I am surprised that she has it because Hodkins in kids is quite rare. God bless her and I will pray for her. xo Diana
My daughter is in the last stages and now as a last ditch back on Chemo. I wish I had answers but I have more questions than answers. Very upsetting so I know how your friend feels about her daughter. I have never been so frightened in my entire life, nor felt so helpless.
As good and caring as her local pediatric oncologist might be, I would also get a second opinion (our oncologist encouraged this) at the very best regional cancer center covered by their insurance. They will have the most cutting edge information which will give the family hope (essential) and the treatment can frequently be given by their local oncologist. Blessings.
I spy my heart here. Our plumbers son got this last year but he is off on a mission for the church. He's doing well with whatever treatment he had.
So sorry this has happened. I have a daughter with a catastrophic illness so I know how scary it is. I will be praying for her.
Hugs,
Laura

Cancer of any kind is a dreadful disease. I cannot offer advice for medical treatment other than what's already been offered here. I've only known two people who have had the aggressive chemo. Both were helped by it. I'll say a prayer for your friend. Hugs, Edna B.
