Owl Sightings

Look what Sue at Sullivan and  Murphy and I found at White Cottage in Newark.  (You thought I meant Newark, NJ. didn't you?  No it's in OHIO)
Isn't this little owl the cutest.  Speaking of cutest, go see Sue's post today.  She has a good camera.  Check out her brushes as well.
Well I was afraid the little guy would fly away so I put him under glass.  I know it's a cloche.  She talked me into buying one at the Rural Society Sale.  I don't even know how to pronounce cloche.  But I really like it.  I just put the little critter under there for fun but loved it there.
I have had this owl for a long time.  I told Charlene of Organized Clutterhttp://organizedclutterqueen.blogspot.com/  I would post this as she has one similar.  Tomorrow we will talk about bats so be prepared.
I took some beautiful fall pictures for you today.  I actually stopped the car and got out.  I think taking them out the window was a bit safer.  Almost got run over by a highway patrolman.
I decided that today was the day.  After our windstorm on Sunday I was surprised that the leaves were still on the trees.  I decided the leaves will most likely be on the ground when I return from Colorado.
Sorry this post is headed toward something sad.  I am leaving on Saturday.....and I can't wait.  I wish I could be there this week.  My kids seem to always have jobs that bring them right into sadness that happens there.  My daughter had to counsel the children that went to school with the little girl that went missing.  If that wasn't enough she was with the teachers including the girl's teacher when the police came to tell them her body had been identified.  And without saying how, my son was also involved and still is.  This all happened so close to where my kids and grandkids live.  Very close.  Parents and grandparents watch your children closely, don't take your eyes off of them.  Give them lots and lots of ((((((HUGS)))))

I'm so sorry your son & daughter are so close to that sad, sad story. I'm sure the teachers, children, and the public are glad to have good people helping them get through this awful time.

Debby, I'm so very sorry that your family is connected with this sad, sad event. I'm sure that they are being of great help.

My heart goes out to the parents, family, and all those who knew her. Prayers for them all.

Have a safe trip. I'm sure that they will appreciate your help.

Your little owl is cute and well protected. At first look I thought it was a real baby owl since my computer screen is small and my glasses were full of hay dust.

Hugs, JB

Your owl sure looks like mine. They have to be the same. Mine has a little tag sewn on the front that says "Baby Hoot". Did you take the tag off? The little fuzzy owl is so cute. I checked out Sue's owl and fun cloches too.

Scary about your Grandkids living so close to the little girl that was killed.

Look at you giving me top billing at the beginning of YOUR blog post! You are just too funny. You crack me up saying you don't know how to pronounce "cloche." I'm glad you took my advice and bought the darn thing. Your little Owlie looks sweet under glass. See- you CAN do cloches. How fun that you and Carlene have the same owl. XO Sue

Love the cute little fluffy owl! So sad when things happen to children. I keep thinking about that poor girl in Pakistan who was shot by the Taliban.

I followed the story of Jessica and was so saddened when her body was found. This just shouldn't happen to a child. It goes to show we can never be too careful.

Your owl is darling! I have heard this is the year of the owl...they are everywhere in stores, in all shapes and sizes. A new trend I guess. I'm glad you had fun shopping with Sue. She is a dear!

XO,
Jane

Debby, It is sad that children have to watched because of predators. But you are right we have to watch ours and others too.

Debby, Thank you for your recent comments. Sweet as always:)
You had me fooled...I thought you had a real owl. Funny thing...when owls were popular back in the day, I hated them. Now I love the lil darlings!

Suzanne

Very cute owls. I almost bought an owl candle warmer at Walmart today and now you're making me think I should run back and get it. Now I'm off to stop at Sue's and see what's happening over there. I am so darn behind in reading blogs!!!
