I think about the numbers and just don't know where time goes. But friends, birthdays are a good thing. It sure beats the alternative. Surviving cancer many years ago (no, not breast cancer) made me appreciate each year I celebrate. ( I love those commercials about cancer and birthdays. ) I always stop and listen. My kind of cancer was rare (liposarcomas in my leg). They aren't anything like lipomas. I was misdiagnosed the first time I had surgery. Then I had to have two more surgeries. No chemo or radiation just very radical surgery. But I have my leg and my hip and they work just fine. I know that I was very lucky. When I was first diagnosed the first thing I said was," But I want to see my grandchildren." When I think back I wonder why I said that. I should have said that I wanted to see my children graduate and get married and things like that. But there I was, worried about not being a grandmother. But now I get it. I think I was born to be a grammy. Seriously. I got to speak to all of my children yesterday and my grandchildren. Just love when they say "grammy" and that they love me. Ohhhhhh, so glad I am here to hear their sweet voices. And.......I am thankful for all this extra time I have had to spend with their parents, their Grampy, and all of their Grammy's friends. (That includes all of you). ((((((HUGS)))))

I agree with every single thing you said. Just think of the people we have known that have never got to see another birthday and passed at a young age. We are blessed and we are blessed to be grandmas....there is NOTHING compares to it...except raising our own children...Hope your birthday was a special one! xo, Patti
Happy Birthday, and yes, being a Grammy is the best!!!!!!!!
Happy Birthdy Debby,
I hope you have a wonderful year of health, love and happiness. I'm sure you are a great grandma!
Take care.
Poppy
Thank you sweet Debby. Happy birthday to you. Getting older is getting more educated, don't you think? Yes, we love our families and friends, that is what makes life worth living. So glad you are a survivor.xoxo, Susie
A very big Happy Birthday to you!! You are such a good grammy no wonder you got so many calls and loves from all of your family...You are a sweetie for sure! xxoo
Happy Birthday Debby. You are such a sweetheart of a grandmother, of course you want to see your grandkids graduate and I'm sure you will.
Have a fun with your love ones.
Hugs. JB
Have a fun "day" with your grandchildren. JB
this kinda hit home when you said I want to see my grandchildren. When my Mom was in hospice she said to me I can't die I need to see my grandkids grow up.
I am glad you had a happy birthday, Debby - you deserve it!
Happy Birthday Debby ! I'm a survivor too and while life has been tough since, (most not cancer related) I am thrilled to be alive and look forward to the milestones of life. You sure are a great Grandma, so glad all is well with you. Elaine
I had to stop for just a moment and wish you a Happy Birthday Debby (a day late). Love your fortitude and determination. I'm sure you'll have many more wonderful years with your grandbabies! Grandkids are such a blessing, aren't they! All the best. Gammy/Tammy
Happy Birthday! Wishing you a wonderful day. The color paint i use is cottage white made by Behr at lowes.Hope that helps.

Happy birthday! Such a sweet post, but it brought tears to my eyes and choked me up. I know your children and grandchildren are thankful to have you, too.
Happy Birthday, Debby! I tend to treat my birthday as just another day now, too. It's hard to do when it's Halloween! I would think that too ~ "but I want to see my grandchildren". I simple way of saying you want to be around a long time and I think you made your point! : )
Debby - Happy Belated Birthday!! So grateful that you are still here and get to enjoy all of your family. They mean so much.
Judy
Oh Debby I do wish you a Very Happy Birthday.
I think all grandma's can relate to this post about being a grandma.
Nothing better is there than to hear those sweet words coming from our grandbabies.
Strange you were on my mind all day yesterday. Now I know why. lol
It would be great to visit with you again soon.
Love
Maggie
Happy Birthday, sounds like you had a great time speaking with all the grands.
Do you skype with the out of towners?

Happy, happy birthday! May God grant you a year of health, happiness, and laughter. Love, Relyn
Oh Debby, I love that you knew you were suppose to be a granny. I believe that about you as well. I have never seen anyone express such joy as you do about your wonderful little ones. They light you from inside. Wishing you a wonderful birthday! Elizabeth
Happy Belated Birthday Debby! I think you are mistaken about your birthday being another day. Any time love surrounds you should be special. Sounds like that happened in your life yesterday. I wish you many more years of good health and happniness.
Happy belated birthday Debby. Your grands are lucky to have a Grammy like you!
