A lazy summer day

I need to gather some energy.  We have friends passing thru tomorrow and they will be spending the night.  I need to get their room ready.  The house is clean because we had a showing yesterday.  But today I am exhausted.  Last night we took the four grands to see Minions.  Would you believe we were the only ones in the theater.  We never saw anyone anywhere , not only that movie but the others.  The cousins havent seen each other since our vacation.  We live in the same town.  My one son and his wife are teachers so they are busy going here and there.

I'm glad to not be driving back and forth this week to see my mom.  With my brother and his wife there, it takes alot off my plate.  But, things haven't gone well.  My Mom continues to run a temp.  She had a low grade temp. when she was admitted to rehab.  Then the night before sbe was to leave rehab it spiked.  She didn't make a big deal out of it because she wanted to go home.  I am wondering now if she got herself discharged earlier.  I knew she wanted to be home when my brother came.  I should have called to see why suddenly she was going home.  They have run blood work.  So far no results.  She had an unusual urinalysis and that was sent off.  She lost a kidney five years ago from cancer.  I guess now she is coughing.  All of this and having chronic leukemia, can't be good.  I keep waiting to hear she has been admitted back in the hospital.    I don't know if my brother will stay any longer than a week.  Probably not.
We are havng a few dry days right now.    Things can begin to dry out a little.
So back to being lazy, or just plain worn out.
My Colorado kids.  They are visiting family in the Hamptons.  I miss them.

Debby, You may be tired from stress. It certainly wears me out. We try not to worry and stress...but with family we love it's almost impossible not to. Blessings to you Debby. Hope things work out for the best. xoxo,Susie

There's no release in your stress level even though your brother and his wife are there. Just knowing they are not going to be here for long. A fever doesn't sound good for a older person. So many things can go wrong. I hope that she will be OK...

I Think you should pay someone professional to stage your home. It can mean the difference between selling your home or loosing out on a sale.
I was just reading this recommendation from a real estate paper a few minutes ago. It said that we should not stage our house with our own preference but use a professional to stage it so the buyer can imagine living in that house. They will buy iy a lot faster.

Good luck my dear. Suer hope that you can get some rest.

I think there is always so much to worry about isn't there? Here you are trying to get a wee break from the issues with your Mom and they are still ever present. Best of luck with all of that and of course your house.

I hope your Mom is okay. The coughing and fever does not sound so good. I understand though why she does not want to stay in the hospital a day longer than absolutely necessary. At our age, we never know which day might be our last and we do not want to spend it in the hospital. Myself, I'd rather be in my own home.

Debby, get lots of rest and take care of yourself. Tending to your Mom can be quite stressful and wearing on you. Enjoy your time with her.

Good luck with your house, and have a great day. Hugs, Edna B.

So sorry to hear about your mom. My mama was an independent lady. She knew that she had a mass in breast and didn't tell us. I happened to find the report asking her to come back for referral and when approached her about it, she refused. In the meantime her dementia worsened and she wound up in nursing home because my daddy turned acutely ill and we were at hospital with him and his recovery was long. It's hard. Prayers for God to comfort you and give you strength and rest from your weariness.
