The Reason For The Season

Decorating outside is pretty easy for me.  I have had all of these things for many years.  Takes just a couple minutes to set them outside.  I had the Boy Scout wreath here and it just didn't look good.  So it is moved down to the edge of our property.  I am kinda hoping that someone takes it.  Really.  The sled was my husband's.  Santa looks a little lonely over there by himself.  I know that the "Welcome" is a little crooked. There are cable cords there.

A little closer..................
Frosty

And the reason for the season.
It is very dark today and has been most of the week.  No snow lately.  I have really been taking it easy the last couple of days.  It has helped.  Well, til just now and the phone rang.  Oh my.
I'm done inside and outside as far as decorating.  I added a few things to the indoors but it's still really simple.  I will post pictures when there is some light.  (A deer must have knocked all the little chickies down.  They are hiding out here since hunting season started.
The week-ends are filling up. All four grands that live here are playing basketball.  Then I haven't seen my Doodle for awhile.  I am going to see her Sunday and take her to "A Charlie Brown" Christmas play and dinner.  Remember she isn't my real grandchild but loved as much.  I have missed her and her little brothers.
I am going to a friend of my son's tomorrow with my Origami Owl, there will be others there as well.  ( a person making signs, homemade lotions and sweet little hair accessories for girls) I think it will be fun.  Hope to sell some of my inventory.
I hope the week-end goes well for all of you.

The outside of your house is delightful. Steve has been working on building one of those white plywood nativities to go in our front yard. He wanted to get in done before Thanksgiving and then put it out the day after, but things happen and time flies, so he's still working on it. We have an adoption party at church this weekend and then a Christmas program at our neighbor's church. I hope he has the time he needs to get his project finished. I told him that I would paint it for him.
I love the little Nativity that you have by your garage. I have never seen one like it before.
Have a wonderful weekend.

I love the sleigh. Everytime I find one it completely out of my price range. Yikes. What cute outdoor decor.

I think your husband's old sled is cute being used as a Christmas decoration. My husband still has his old one like that too. I should try to use it somewhere! Your Christmas décor looks festive and I'm sure your grandkids like it. Glad that you're getting some rest.

Very sweet decorations...I can see they are well loved. I still have some of my old wooden ones and bring them out once in awhile (I have to rotate things as I just can't resist Santa's and snowmen!). Love the sled, too!

Hello Debby, sweet decorations outside your door. I am making it simple too this year, and focusing on the reason for the season. Here in Norway the tree doesn't go up until around 23rd. December, stays up until over New Year though. Your grandkids are so lucky to have you and your husband around. Grandparents are so important. My children havn't seen my mum for almost three months and they miss her, keep asking when she is coming. She only lives an hour away, but she is always so very busy. Friends, church meetings, charity sales, local doings and goodness knows what. Wish she we could meet once a month and they could see their gran. They would love that. I had a wonderful gran. A tiny Scotch/Australian lady with a big heart and time to invest in me. She has shaped my whole life. Take care of yourself Debby, blessings, Pam xx

I love your simple wood nativity, but of course, I love ALL nativities! Simple seems to be the theme of Christmas decorating this year. I think people are trying to take time to Enjoy the season this year, which is a good thing! Blessings, Cindy
