No worries

It has been awhile since I have posted.  I spent a week being ill and another week trying to find out why.  But I am okay, no answers, just going to monitor if the symptoms return.  No matter how hard you try to be positive you still worry.  This time I think I worried more than I thought.  I slept for two days after the last test.  I didn't have an sedation or medication to make me sleepy. That is a lot of sleep for someone that has a hard time falling asleep.
I spent time reading posts but not always replying.  I had two dogs sitting on me most of the time.  We finally curbed the old recliner and got a new one.  It is a chair and a half (room for dogs and grands) and it is electric.  I am loving it. The dogs still try to claim my body for a dog bed but they are learning.
I should have taken this pictures earlier.  We didn't get any rain for three weeks but finally got some this week-end.  There was rain all around us.  Thank God not the flooding in other areas.  I hope all my Texas friends are okay.
It has been fun watching on the colors pop up in our flower bed.  I am so not a gardener and this is really fun.  Now you will see my empty wagon.  I can't find my fairy garden things.  My cute little house and camper and all the accessories are just missing.  I will go ahead with the new things I got and the plants before they die.  They will show up eventually.
I missed two sales that I look forward to (again) this week-end.  But Sunday I got a text from someone I met on a Facebook Shirley Temple group.  She asked if I was at the doll show in Columbus.  I said that I thought it was only on Saturday.  But it was yesterday too.  So I jumped in the shower and drove the 30 minutes to get there.  I only stayed an hour but made a couple purchases and saw not only the lady that texted me but some of my doll club members.

Here is my new Shirley.  This is my first composition one.  I never bought one before because of the price.  This was one I could afford.  I like that she is a little one.  She does need a little TLC.  I love Skippy and Patsy dolls.  I also got a look alike Patsy type.  They are unmarked and usually older than the others.  I spotted her and just loved her eyes.  The lady that sold her and I both thought what good shape she was in for being from the 1920's.

Doesn't she have pretty eyes.  Well I learned one thing yesterday.  When you go to these shows you need to bring your own totes and packaging.  Because if you look at her left arm you will see that some of it is missing.  This poor doll made it all those years without an injury and in my hands for 30 minutes and look what happened.  The plastic grocery bag broke and she fell to the ground as I got into my car.  Another little figurine broke as well.  Thank good Shirley was on the top of the bag and she was okay.  I will fix her arm and get her a long sleeve dress.  She will stay with me.
Have you seen the video of the little girl that has an artificial leg, getting an American Girl doll that also has one.  I know these dolls are so overpriced and made in China but they are special dolls.  They will be the next collector items if they keep retiring ones and bring new ones back.
Well, you all doll lovers so I will stop for now.
Here's to a better week for us all.
Hugs

What precious finds! I cannot imagine how you felt when the bag broke. As we say at my house "learning experience". Just read a large tote full of bubble wrap for your next shopping trip. I am suffering from shingles. It is a horrid and painful disease. I thought I had to wait until I was 60 to get the vaccine and that would be 3 more months. Now I find out that my insurance would have covered it starting at age 50. Anyone reading this who is over 50, check with your insurance. I urge you to get the vaccine as soon as possible.

I'm so sorry to hear that you haven't felt well. I I know from personal experience how hard that is...especially the not knowing what is causing it. Your new chair sounds great. We bought two new lazy boys in January. We had had our previous ones for 20 years and loved me. You can sure tell the quality isn't the same as they used to be but they're still nice. Your new dolls are nice. I'm sorry you had an accident with them.
Blessings,
Betsy

I hate those mysterious illnesses, and they are scary. Well, your body was telling you that rest was needed. Hope you are feeling much better now. Your garden is very pretty. Have fun with your dollies. Sorry about the broken arm. Hate when things like that happen! I have strong totes that live in the car, which helps.

Your flowers are beautiful, and I love your new dollies. I'm sure once you've fixed the broken arm, your dolly will still be beautiful.

So glad you are feeling better now. It's no fun being laid up, especially when you don't even know what's wrong with you.

Have a wonderful day, hugs, Edna B.

I hope you are feeling much better. You know I just love vintage dolls. As you can see, I've also been absent in blogland. Too busy with work and family milestones. I'm not abandoning my blog, but IG is so much easier. Take care, dear friend!

So hope you are doing OK. This aging is rough...not anything like what I was expecting. We are in the middle of tearing up the floors in the d. room and the kitchen and out place is one big mess. It is driving me nuts. Glad you have room in your new home for all of your precious little things. I hope you did not have to sell a lot of your collections before moving. genie
