Mixing it up on a Monday

Be prepared this post is all over the place.  If you are in the Mini Swaps or Matchbox Swap, spoiler alert.

After Mabel's basketball game we took her to Bob Evans for lunch and then to see the movie Paddington.  The previews make it look like a movie you might want to miss.  The movie was surprisingly good.  In a sweet kind of way.  Paddington was adorable and the characters were as well.  As in all movies there is a villain.  Nicole Kidman was the taxidermist.  I don't think the little ones would have any idea that she wanted to stuff poor Paddy.
One of the great scenes was from the attic where Paddington slept.  There were scenes of him looking in a doll house at his family that he lives with.   It was like a live doll house.
Here is one picture from the movie.  I borrowed it online as I am not a pirate. (Except for Halloween)

There was a birthday party group of kids that sat right behind us.  I never heard a peep from any of them.  It's not an intense movie just a nice one.

Now, you already know I like teddy bears.  But let me explain a little Paddington Bear story.
After just a couple of months of meeting our son at the pre-school where I worked, I bought him this bear for Christmas.  I had inquired about his adoption status since he was a foster child.  I was told that he would be adopted with his sister.  I had no idea he would be adopted without his sister and by us.  So, back to Christmas.  My Hubby dressed as Santa for our little holiday party.  Wouldn't you know on this day our son was ill and didn't attend.  I later dropped off the gift but never saw him open it.
I picked this bear because I felt he needed looked after and needed a home, just like Paddington.  So, I still have that bear from 25 years ago.

A couple shots of the basketball game. These are kindies, they travel a lot....as in walking.  But our Mabel is a terrific dribbler.  She can also do a mean bounce pass.  Baskets........just not tall enough.
that's her Daddy that is helping coach.

Here she is in the actual game getting some advice from her dad on how to handle the crazy cute kid in front of her.  Who knows what those two in the background are doing.  Notice everyone except the coach is blurry.  These kids just don't stand still.

Now Swappers, cover your eyes....
This is a group shot of two match boxes I made for a swap.  I  haven't decided which to give my person.  The other two items are for the Mini Swap where we make 19 of the same thing and everyone gets 19 different things.  I made Mabel's swap items with very little help from her.  It's cherry pie and a blackboard.   Let me tell you that cherry pie was a challenge.  On the other side is a bulletin board.  I tried to make stands but it just wasn't working.  I figure it could be free standing or on a wall in a doll house.  In case you are counting that's 19 x 2.  My house is a crafting mess.

Okay now I need  YOU to tell me which wagon is your favorite.  The antique one with the peg doll or the flower wagon garden.  That's a chicken on the side of it.  Thanks.  Sorry about the shadows but I am enjoying any and all sunshine this month.
Have a good week .  (((((HUGS)))))

That's a hard question. They are both adorable. Your Paddington outing sounds like it was fun.

I love for kids to play sports...I hate when parents think they are all-stars and scream for blood during the games. LOL Kids should play for the exercise and fun. Hope you are doing well Debby. I think of you when our weather changes. There have been some pretty days lately. xoxo,Susie

Sports bring out the best and worst of everyone. I would have hoped things had changed since my kids were young.

Paddington Bear holds a special place in my heart...he kept my daughter cheered up when she went though several weeks of serious asthma problems when she was three.

I still have my Paddington Bear books. I read my first one in about 1968 while the super-duper central heating was being installed. This meant no more being washed by Mum in the kitchen (the only warm room in the house), so I connect Paddington with warmth. xx

I have the exact same Paddington bear and Josie brought him yesterday to the movies to watch the Paddington movie. I also loved the scene in the attic of the dollhouse representing their house too. It was a much better movie than I anticipated from the previews. Loving your mini creations! What fun you are having!!

I loved your Paddington Bear story! Now I want to see the movie!

Both of your wagons are adorable, and I'm so terrible at making decisions I'm not even going to try to pick a favorite. The cherry pie looks good enough to eat!

My 10 year old granddaughter plays basketball too and she loves it so much. I was astonished that they don't lower the basket any! That's why their scores tend to be 1 to 2, lol. Oh and yes, I painted the angels too. Thanks for your sweet comment on my post. Hugs : )

Dear Debby, You are the best Grandma...don't know when we'll be ready for a movie. Our small one cannot sit still. Seems everything you make is so cute, and you are so patient to make multiples for the swaps. Take care my friend, stay out of hospital emergency rooms, crazy places for sure. Love, Penny

I loved your story of your Paddington Bear. When my kids were small, they put all their spending money together one day and bought me a fuzzy rabbit for Easter. It only had one eye and was on sale and affordable. I loved that rabbit, and a few years ago I passed it along to my oldest daughter.

These stuffed toys play an important part in all our lives and memories.

I'm not one for going to the movies, but as soon as this movie is available on Netflix or Amazon, I'll be watching it.

You have a wonderful day, hugs, Edna B.

I've seen promotions for that Paddington movie and it looks cute. Glad you enjoyed it.

Hi Debby - I've seen the advertisements for Paddington Bear on TV, but I don't have any little ones to take to that movie! I would feel pretty silly going to see it on my own - or with my husband, lol. Guess I'll have to wait until it comes to Redbox and then rent it. I'd have a hard time picking which wagon I like best...they're both really cute. You mentioned on my blog that you like my leaning/ladder bookcase...if I remember correctly, I ordered it from Home Decorators online.
