Swapping Houses

Have you ever wanted to swap houses with someone.  Like go on vacation to their house and they can come to your house and stay.  Or another idea, I'd love to trade my larger home with a cute little cottage close to the mountains or the sea.  Well, that is not likely to happen but in the movies.  I can't remember the name of the movie where they swapped houses during the holidays.  But the cottage in that movie was so cute.  Okay, off the subject.....so sorry.  I took part of a Putz House swap.  I never knew they were called that before doing this.  I wasn't sure what I would do.  I bought my little houses in Colorado and they flew home on the plane with me.  This is funny ......my swap partner was from Colorado.  So my little house has been to Ohio and back to Colorado.    My partner's name was Susie of littlesusiehomaker- lilsusiehomaker.blogspot.com/ Now how is that for a sure name.  Well this beautiful red house is the one she sent me.  Look at the detail.  I love how she did the windows and the door and the roof and the front and the side........I should just say that I loved it all.  Her house was big.  lilsusiehomaker.blogspot.com/
Two pics, one using a flash and the other one not.  It is getting dark here early tonight.  Wonder if there is rain coming.
This is blurry but it is the inside of the house..  She did a little fireplace scene and a little bottle brush tree all decked out.  Cute, isn't it.  Every time I walk by it and can't help but smile.
Also in the box was this little Santa bag that had candy, a sweet owl ornament (I love owls)  and a chocolate candle.  Little Susie knows me well.
This is the little house I sent her.  It is smaller than the one she sent me.  Susie  doesn't even know this but recently I bought a little box of vintage Christmas things from Erika of Golden Egg Vintage. Erika sponsored this swap. I used those cute little things to decorate the house.  Even the little hankie I got from her.
I had the little fence.  Notice that Santa is looking in the window.  Well this was a fun swap.  I must just throw this out there.....any one want to swap houses for real.  Didn't think so, but had to ask.
If you follow my blog you know that I am hosting a "Cup of Kindness Swap".  I have assigned partners and sent messages to everyone in the swap.  But swappers please let me know if you got my message.  Did I leave anyone out.  There is a problem with clicking on my email from my blog  To be safe when sending me a message please type in my address.  I know that's a pain in the neck. My email address is grammypetals@yahoo.com .
I know that this week starts the mad dash for Christmas here in the States.  Wishing a Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.  I took my decorations down.....I am so ready to decorate for Christmas and hopefully I will soon.  I am excited to hear all about your celebrations.

I won't swap but I will say you are welcome to come and stay in my sweet fairy cottage right by the sea here in Alaska. In the summer would be better than now lol..

Hi Debby!! Swapping the putz houses was a lot of fun! I am so happy that you like the one I made for you, I did go a little heavy on the glitter! ere is the correct link to my blog by the way. I know mine is super long, sorry. You made a few mistakes:
littlesusiehomemaker-lilsusiehomaker.blogspot.com
You could just copy and paste it.
But I love my house and think it is so great that you got the little vintage stuff from Erica!! And funny that the house is in Colorado again, too. Looking forward to your cup of kindness swap!
Blessings,
Susie

Those little putz houses are darling. I never heard that term before outside of blogland. It's too bad your email has been compromised. UGH_ xo Diana

I think the name of the movie is "The Holiday" with Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet. I love that movie and you are right, the cottage is darling! Your little house is cute! Hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving!~xo, Patti

What a fun idea for a swap Debby!!!
Yes, I have always thought it would be fun to swap houses with someone. I always wanted to swap for a little stone cottage in England somewhere.

What a cute idea, Debby! I wish I were creative enough to make one of these!

I have heard of people swapping homes for vacations, especially the Americans that want to go to Europe and vice verse. It really happens!

The movie was called The Holiday and it's one of my favorites that should be on TV anytime soon.

XO,
Jane

Both of you girls did such a great job with the SWAP! It really was fun! I believe that I'll have to do a post showing my collection of REAL vintage putz houses, because it seems that they aren't well known. But then again, everyone will then want to buy them up on Ebay! And that will make them even more expensive! haha
Yes, Susie and I have communicated! I'm so glad that she's my partner for the Cup Swap-
Thanks Debby!

I have these friends who retired and they actually have been all over the place by swapping houses-
FOR REAL-they get to see alot of new places that way. If I find out the name of the group I will post it. It's a safe less expensive way for everyone involved to get about this country and more!

Debby, I had such fun making up my Cup of Kindness for Tammy. Not one thing was purchased, all "What's on Hand."
This Putz swap has been so fun to look at. Every single house is "Swap" worthy. I'm with you, I would love to trade houses!
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Day with your family Debby! Elizabeth
