And the winner is.........

Lil Susie Homemaker.  You thought I was going to say something else, didn't you?  Sorry I couldn't resist.
There were actually three guesses that were close.  I had to draw names.  I was know that I am a honest person.
The actual amount was $750.00.  The guesses were two for $800 and one for $700.
Loved all the comments.  I did donate to Red Cross yesterday through my hometown bank.
Sorry, I do like police officers.  I just thought they could have been a little nicer.
As far as drug money......if you could see the scene of our little Norman Rockwell town that day, I doubt that a drug deal went down.  But.......maybe on the Hill as they call the university here.
I did learn to report but to keep the money on my person til it is claimed.
As far as listing it on Craig's List.  That has proved a little dangerous around here.  I know in Colorado my kids have all kinds of success with buying and selling with CL.  We have had some bad things happen here in Ohio.  I did check there to see if anyone posted loosing the money.
Okay bloggy friends have a good day.  Praying that the East Coast survives yet another blow.  Wow, you need a break.  ((((((HUGS)))))

In our small Alaska town we have the public radio station which reports all kinds of things people call in, lost and found dogs and cats, messages to those out in the bush w/o phone service, a found hat or glove no kidding. I could put it on there and surely would end up finding the right owner.

All Joking aside, thank you Debby. You are a really fun sport!

That's great that you're going to donate some of it. It almost sounded like the police didn't want you to have it? I'm sure if you hadn't called about it they wouldn't have contacted you - at least that's what it sounds like.

Holy Moly! That's a lot of moolah! That's too bad that you had such a bad experience for just trying to do the right thing. But bless you for giving it to those in need :)

Dear Debby, I know I would have done the same thing as you, worried about the person who lost it. It's great that you are sharing it with the Red Cross. You've got a great heart my friend. Love, Penny

That really was a lot of money! You sure are a good person to try to find the person that lost it and to make a donation. If everyone was like you....our country would be so much better off! Congrats to the winner of your contest. It was fun! I didn't imagine it was nearly that much!

Debby - What a story!! I went back and read your story of the money. All I can say is that if someone would have lost that much, surely they would have gone to the police station. Since they didn't, don't feel bad.

How sweet and kind to share with the Red Cross. Go buy yourself something special.

Debby! What a story! I read the post before this one to get up to speed. This weekend will seem so calm after this adventure. Should be a warm one! Enjoy! Elizabeth

Can you please e-mail me directly at
I don't understand why our messages are not going back and forth?
Bless you Sweety,

Wow! That's amazing that no one claimed it. I wonder if the police would have given whoever lost it the run around too. It is so nice of you to donate part of it to the Red Cross.

What a generous thing for you to do! I'm sure the Red Cross can really use that money right now.
