Around our house

We are trying to return to normal here.  This is how Piper spends his day.  He will sit outside forever and just look and smell.    We picked Hank and Piper up at the doggy daycare/overnight place.  They stayed there over the week-end while we were in our hometown for Hubby's mother's funeral.  Everything went well.  The service was nice.  Afterwards at my husband's sister and brother in law's house our family gathered.  We had a nice meal and a good visit.
We are back home now.  The puppy was pretty sick yesterday.  We really think it was his dog food.  The same he has always eaten but it looked different to both of us.  I have been in touch with Purina.  He is better this morning but we are keeping an eye on him.  The place he stayed didn't notice anything.  It could be a combination of things.
Don't you all love these canvases that light up.  They are hard to take a picture of.  The tree changes colors.  The one below lights up more but this was the best picture.
This was too cute not to show.
This is my little Nutcracker display.  Actually she came from a doll swap.  I added the ceramic ballerina.  I also found a little framed photo of me as a ballerina.
Christmas is two weeks away.  It doesn't seem like it here.  I have gotten gifts for the grandchildren.  Some are wrapped.  But the adult kids are getting gift cards.  I would rather give gifts but this is what they want.  Hey, it makes it easier.
While all things at Christmas should be happy, some are just not.  Please keep Diana (Nana takes a break) in your prayers for her Hero.  Also if you could say a little prayer for my best friend and best clown friend (Sandy aka Holly Bell) who lost her husband yesterday.
I try to keep this a happy place but sometimes we just need to say a little prayer for someone that needs one.
Hugs

Congratulations on your downsize! Just the other day, I was wondering what happened to you. Couldn't google the right "cozy" blog, and then your post showed in my feed in my sidebar today. Downsizing is a job. I still have too much from ours several years ago. xoxo Su

I don't buy that brand of dog food. Check to see if there has been a recall. I think there is a webiste of recalled dog food. Can't remember the name. Google it! For sure don't buy a brand made in china!! or any treats from there too. Very bad! Prayers are needed for so many :)
Take care.

Debby, It is hard to lose family here at the holiday season. The year I lost my mother was the 18th of Dec and dad on Christmas Day. I do the holidays because of the boys. They make the it special. This year my oldest will fly in on Christmas Eve. It makes it special that the all the kids will be together. I will say a prayer for you and I will keep saying prayers for Diana.I hate that nasty word/ I am praying for a miracle. Take care. Merry Christmas. Hugs and Prayers from your Missouri Friend Shirley

Prayers from Norway Debby, Christmas can be either the happiest or the saddest of times indeed. Your poor little pup, hope he recovers quickly. We had a dog in doggy care for a weekend once and he was so sick when he got home. The vet told us he probably felt a bit traumatised being an old fellow. Perhaps young dogs feel it too? Love your doll display. Take care and God bless, Pam in Norway xx

Although Christmas is a wonderful happy time, it can also be very stressful and hurting for some. Prayers for your friends. I so hope your little dog will be better soon. Your view is wonderful. No wonder Piper loves to sit out on the porch and just take it all in.

Pogo and I wish you and your family a Merry Christmas, and a very Happy New Year.
Hugs, Edna B.

I understand. I just read your comment..and you can talk to me. :)
I didn't know Diana was having a problem..I must check in on her. I've been gone..but just decided to try and post again. Tired is all, no other excuse..it's just a hard time of year for me. My blog will tell you why.
Because it's Christmas does not mean that sad things don't happen. Christmastime is when my heart got broken and has never completely healed. Never will.
Much love to you...and thank you for your sweet comment.

How in the world after all of these years was my name not on your follower list. Well, I just fixed that oversight. Sorry about the deaths. It is especially sad when it happens at a holiday time. Glad you all are home safe and sound. Hope the dog gets better soon. They cannot talk so it makes it so hard on us to figure out what is wrong. Your little nutcrackers are so cute. My years of them are all packed up in boxes. The propane heat was causing the paint to peel. Buddy gave me one a year for years and years so I have a wonderful collection. Goodie left Lex on Monday. Hope is avoids “snail mail” and get to you before Christmas. Have stopped posting to memes. Having bad trouble with back and neck being on the computer so much. Will just post every day or so and keep in touch with the post of my dear blogger pals.XOXOXO

I know what you mean about sometimes this time of year isn't as wonderful as it should be. I'm sorry to hear about your MIL's passing. My MIL is in hospice care herself. We're told she may only have a few more weeks left but they have said that before so we never know. We just keep trekking along and we'll deal with it when it happens. I have hated hearing about Diana's husband! It just doesn't seem real since she is always the one praying for others and now she needs our prayers. Sometimes, with all of the sadness going on around us within our own families and then on the news it's enough to make you crazy! We must hang in there and know that tomorrow is another day. Things will change.

Hi, Debby! Thanks for stopping by my blog. I'm sorry to hear about your MIL. Sadness comes no matter what time of year it is.

I saw those light up canvasses for the first time this past summer. I really like them. They are so unique.
