A little tour of Savannah

When we went to Hilton Head, Mr. Cozy and I took a cruise to Savannah.  We wanted to go on the Paula Deen tour but they were sold out.  The ones going on that tour were also on our boat.  I think we would have enjoyed that more.  We ate at the Cotton House when we first arrived.  after that we took a two hour tour of the city by street car.  It wasn't easy getting pictures of the houses as we were moving.  There are something like 49 squares in the city and all kinds of architecture.  I'd love to go back and spend a few days there on our own.  So hope you can get a feel of what the city looks like from my blurry pictures.
This was where Jenny from Forest Gump worked.
Look closely and you can see a Paula Deen poster.  This was her restaurant.  Wish we could have eaten there.
Key Lime pie at the Cotton Co.  Yum Yum
The ride itself was a little boring and hot and humid.  But the best part was sending time with Mr. Cozy.

Updates........I have a lot of things to share but need to get busy and show pictures.  Seems like so many bloggers need prayers right now.  A rough time for many.  Did GFC ever go away?  I haven't seen any changes.  How can it be almost August........  It has been cool here for a few days now.  No A/C/ and the windows open.  Temps. in the 50's during the night. I'm sure the heat will return but I am loving this weather.  The granddaughters are home from Canada and headed to the beach in Maryland this week-end.  Rough summer for them, hah.  I flunked at critter sitting.  We had one escape.  I looked everywhere and even had Mr. Cozy come look.  He did reappear when my granddaughter got home, whew.
Take care my friends.

Hi Debby, The old buildings and cobbled street looks very interesting. I'm glad that you had some time to spend with Mr. Cosy. I didn't recognized you in this photo. lol...

I"m glad that the escapee critter returned. When I was babysitting for my daughter several years ago, her cat wanted out in the afternoon so I let her out like usual. She would usually come in shortly after only this time she didn't returned. We never saw her again. I felt so bad... She was thin and had a thyroid problem and someone must have thought that she was neglected and took her in, ( we hoped)... Her name was "Bug" why, I don't know. lol.
Hugs,
JB

I love Savannah! I haven't been in years. I've been a couple of times and feel a strong connection to the city with my southern roots. It really captures everything the south embodies, doesn't it? I've never been to Paula Deen's restaurant either. Maybe one day I can. I'm sure I'll get back there one day. It was fun reliving it through your pics. Glad you had a good time.

Hi Debby, I have never been to Savannah so you gave me a trip this summer. That is all of the traveling I will be doing. You wonder just what is true about Paula Deen. Is it the way it is being presented or is somebody trying to make a lot of money? I love the buildings and the cobble stone streets. No I don't think your pictures are blurry. Have a wonderful day. Hugs and Prayers from Your Missouri Friend.

Hi Debby- It looks like you had a great time in Savannah. I haven't been there in years but I loved those squares. I never did take one of the tours but should have. Glad you had some alone time with Mr.Cozy.

Google follower didn't go away- what did go away was the Reader that a lot of people used from their home page. I never used it anyway...but I wish they would leave things alone.

Glad you found the escapee! xo Diana

Debby I can't believe you were so close to me! I live about 2 hrs from Savannah....it's so much nicer to do it in the spring or fall...not so hot & less humidity. There are walking tours around the squares.. It's a great place for a girls weekend away! There are so many lovely B & Bs...and restaurants...oh my....down on the cobblestone street by the river is a place that has the most heavenly beignets...light as clouds... & then there's Mrs Wilkes fried chicken....yum

What fun! Love the picture of you and your hubby. I'm glad you enjoyed your time away and that your pet sitting duties didn't end with a sad ending. We have two indoor cats who anxiously try and sneak out our slider every chance they can. Hugs!

I was raised in Charleston SC. Have you ever toured there? The homes are absolutely gorgous. Savannah is nice also. I lived in Charleston until I was 42. I had all my children there and raised them there. I miss the south so much. Ohio is so different. I have been here 15 years now, it's starting to grow on me some. Glad that you had a great time!! Loved the pics but made me homesick.

God Bless~
Debbie

Thank goodness the critter returned. I would of been a nervous wreck. haha
When I went on that long long trip to the GOP debates we went through Savannah and like you I had trouble taking pictures riding in a car.
We had reservations to eat at Paula's place but skipped them and went on to the debates.
I too would like to return some day and take in more of the surrounding area like Tybee beach near there.
Love
Maggie
