My Upside down house/Part One

My house is a mess.  No a real mess.  To my surprise two weeks ago my husband drove me to the flooring store......needless to say I was shocked.  This is something I have wanted forever.  No more carpet in our living and dining room area.  This is a big space.  We have an older home but the rooms are very open.  Well, even though I am so excited over this, it has come at a busy time.  You see I am about to venture on a crazy road trip........more on that later.
What does this sofa have to do with this......you will see, but do you like it.  This picture is taken from the store window of Gallery Dreams and White Cottage. Just happens this is one of my favorite stores.
Okay, after two days of living downstairs (our home is a bi-level.......I am now upstairs.  The floor is down and I love it.  There is a layer of dust everywhere and everything is in our bedroom waiting to be moved back.  Now that isn't all.  I completely tore the downstairs up the last two days.  I re-organized our big storage closet and play room.  I have lots of toys because I used to have a pre-school and because I still watch children here.....and other BIG news.......more on that later.  (You see you have to read this long post til the end, he he)  Those are done.  I need to turn the one large bedroom into a bedroom again for our daughter and her kids.........  I am going through my craft room.  I have way stuff.  So easy to ignore the downstairs and just live upstairs.  While 3,000 sq. feet might sound little to most of you but it's big to me.  So the downstairs is about 1/2 finished.  Upstairs about 2 days away from being finished and it all needs cleaned.....OKAY and I have today and tomorrow  WHY
I am flying to Colorado on Wednesday morning.  Yippee.  The road trip begins.
3 days later My daughter and her 7 and 3 year old leave by car from Colorado to Ohio....with me, of course.(Saturday)
We get back here hopefully on Monday or Tuesday and rest a couple of days.  We make the trip to see the grandmothers and other family members.  My daughter hasn't been here for over 4 years.  No one has met Rico.
Then on Friday, we take Mr. Cozy and we all get back in the car (actually a Pilot) and head for Hilton Head.  The rest of the family will meet us there for a week.  Our youngest son will actually be in DC with his new church group.  We did this vacation two years ago and had so much fun.  The second time all the cousins have been all together EVER.  But that may be changing.  WHY.  BECAUSE, my son is being transferred to OHIO.  We are so excited.  So two of my Colorado grands will be living in Ohio now.  I will still have two in Colorado but two more will be closer.  OKAY, back to the road trip.
The following Saturday we head back to Ohio.  We will stay in Ohio a few days and then back in the car for Colorado.  Oh yes, again.  I will stay in Colorado a few days and then back to Ohio by plane.  So far I only have a one way ticket to Colorado because this is all so confusing that we couldn't figure out a return date.  I have to return as my hubby, dogs, and my job won't let me stay there forever.
So there it is UPSIDE DOWN......I bet you can't wait on Part Two.
I can do it, I can, I can......

WOW, that sounds like a LOT of travel, not to mention everything in the house beforehand! But it's always amazing how much can be accomplished with a deadline, and you'll have so many good times ahead!
Good Luck - and have safe and wonderful travels!
xoxo Jane

Debby, glad for your new floors and family moving home and the trip but I would be very stressed out too with so much happening at once.

Wow Debby, you have my head spinning. That is a lot of scheduling and I know that you can do it too. Yes you can.

You will love having no carpet in your house.
I had all the carpets remved in my house, upstairs and downstairs too. The old carpet was glued to the floor and I removed it all myself. What a long job that was. My husband put in Parquet wood floors. I don't ever want wall to wall carpets in my house again.

I wish you good weather for all your travelling.
Hugs,
JB

Exciting. The new floor will be so much easier for you with the grandchildren, and 3000 square feet is big, but it won't be for long! With your daughter to help and the kids, it will probably seem just right. Safe travels.

First of all, I love that sofa! What a busy life you have now but full of good stuff with family being together, that's the best part. Nice trips ahead. And Hilton Head should be great. Our daughter and family will be there in June sometime too.

Just go with the flow! Enjoy it all and eventually the house will get done.

So happy for you that you'll have 2 more grandkids close by! I love that couch! Did you get it???
We bought a white couch a few weeks ago because I have always wanted one. It already looks dirty! So hard when you have dogs.
So right now I'm sitting on my white couch, with a white sheet over it. ??? Not quite sure this makes sense! haha

I am trying to figure out how many pairs of underwear you need to travel from place to place for that long of an trip!;>) Good for you, Debbie! I am so happy that you are going to have time with your kids and glad that you will have 2 of them closer to you now.

I think 3,000 sq. ft is a big house,Debby. I hope you show us your new flooring when the dust settles (literally). I am happy for you!

I'll be praying for safe traveling for you and your family- Love ya, Diana
