Painting in more ways than one

This is the shelf that I painted with ASCP Duck Egg Blue this week. The first coat would have been okay esp. if I wanted it distressed. I did paint another coat. Now I need to wax and sand it to distress it. Loved the paint and love the color. So easy to use.
The whole shelf, sideways, he he.
Here is the before picture. It was from Calico Cottage like the other piece I painted recently.
I went to see my friend Kathie yesterday. She was my cousins' best friend. We always got together for Jo's birthday and other times as well. She is so talented. She quilts, paints, and makes jewelry. I had mentioned I'd love to have something she painted. She pulled out several paintings. I chose the cherries because it reminded me of ME.
I choose this one just because I loved it. She had some paintings of people that were unbelievable.
She also helped me fix a couple pieces of jewelry that I had tried to make. She gave me a beautiful necklace as well. We went to a cute little retro place to eat lunch. I didn't see the incline in the carpet and fell. I am fine but I was embarrassed to say the least.
We have had some rain today. It seemed to just be raining around us but we actually got 1/2 of an inch. We need more but every little bit helps.
Hope you all have a wonderful week-end.

Hi Debby, You survived the fall then die of embarrassment ! We've all been there. Glad that you are alright. Just love the color you choose of the ascp. Your project is looking great. Having talented friends is great. You did mean Mary Englebrieght...life is just a chair of bowlies, right? Have a great weekend. Love, Penny

Hi Debby, It is always embarrassing when we do something in front of people. We have all done it one time or another. How is the stiff neck doing? Better I hope. I don't know which painting I like the best because I like them both. I am glad you had fun with your family. I will pray that your son is safe. My family keeps after me about how much I drink and all they said they couldn't have both of us sick. Have a great weekend and I would love to have some of your rain. Hugs Your Missouri Friend.

You've done a great job on your shelf. I love the color, Debby.
I've fallen in public. It's a horrible feeling..just horrible. I don't blame you for being embarrassed! I I hope your neck gets better fast. Wonder if you slept wrong or something.

Very nice, Debby! Do you have your piece yet for the workshop? I thought I did, but then I finished it! : ) I will have to make sure I have something ready.

Oh Debby, I will keep your son in my prayers that the trauma of this event will not harm him. I know how worried you must be.
Thanks for the vote of confidence. BOY was I hoping for one of those 100* days! We would not be going then. Sigh! We will sit together and be ignored all day and then I will come home and craft as I watch tv. The picnic is at one pilot's home on Buckeye Lake (such an unusual lake) The drive is so beautiful, that I will look forward to! PS Love your shelf!!! I have often thought of buying one at the Goodwill but didn't like the brown color. Inspiration found here! E

Hi Debbie,
I saw your comment on E's post and just wanted to tell you that I am praying for your son and the rest of the officers and all the families that were affected by this gunman and his reign of terror early Friday morning. My heart goes out to these people.
Just wanted you to know that I saw the comment and wanted you to know that other people are praying for you and your family.
Hugs,
Lynn from Life on the Wienee Ranch blog

I just bought old white ASCP and will start painting a cabinet tomorrow. I did not use the wax on the first 2 projects I did. If I like the wax on the cabinet, then it means I have to do wax on the others. I sure love the color blue you used.
