In my neck of the woods

Our temps hit 40 today.
A cold 40. Along with that there was ice and fog. Snow is supposed to be on its way with falling temps. It's winter for sure.
My daughter had yesterday off because of MLK's birthday. Her four year old asked if they were going somewhere to have cake. Gotta have cake if you have a birthday. She also asked what everybody in the world are called. I said people, she said that wasn't it. I said humans and that's the answer she wanted. Sometimes you have to wonder what goes on in those little brains. I just wish I had some of that little girl's energy.
For all of you gnome lovers, the Gnomio and Juliet movie comes out Feb. 11. It looks really cute.

American Idol starts tomorrow night. Maybe my life will get a bit more exciting, hah. Sorry I think I am in the winter funk. Hopefully it will pass soon.
Stay safe my friends.

It has to be that time of the year. The holidays are over and all the sparkling lights are down so the days look so gray. I haven't even been leaving comments on my favorite blogs. I best kick it in gear and tell that little granddaughter to send some energy my way. Take care!

Even though it's bright and sunny here, I've had a rough couple of days too. It must be the time of year!

The cold weather can't be helping.....hope your energy levels improve soon.

I've always said a book could be written about all the funny things children say.......I have so many funny stories from my days working in nurserycare........maybe I should seriously consider writing one, lol.

stay warm, florrie x

I know what you are saying but January so far seems to be moving by pretty fast. Maybe because I spent the first of it sick on the sofa! I noticed I have been thinking more and more of taking a trip south...my sister told me yesterday that she had lunch at an outdoor cafe yesterday. She lives in Florida. Hang in there...another storm moving in tomorrow....Oh Joy!~Hugs, Patti

Dear Debby, I wish you lived close by..we could get out the winter funk together! Lol! Funny..those photos that I just posted look almost warm and sunny, but that day--it was cold, damp, and gray. My fingers were so cold I could hardly work my camera. When I got back with my 'treasures' ..i.e. photos, I was so glad I forced myself to get out in the gloom. You need a good dose of big band music. I think the gray is what gets to me.

Praying your day gets a little brighter. :o)
