Jacob has arrived

I just saw that Viv made a post on Viv Out on a Wim that her grandson has arrived. He looks good. He will have surgery in a couple of days. She said the doctors were"cautiously optomistic". She asked that we keep praying as his critical time is now til about 3 days after his surgery. Please keep up the prayers and help Viv and her family through all of this. Us Grammy's have to stick together.

Do Not Text and Drive

We start young in our family. We all know how horrible this can turn out. Why do I still see so many people doing this.
I also posted this picture because of an accident that recently happened. A little guy was riding a John Deere battery operated tractor and it caught on fire. He was badly burnt. Experts tried to figure out what happened. He had been riding it for 30 minutes or so. The battery was hot but didn't cause the fire. They think it was from leaves and grass that had gotten into the inside of the tractor that actually ignited. So check for this if you have these kind of toys. Don't let the children ride for long periods of time. And above all else, supervise. His parents were there and rushed to him but he still was badly burnt. This picture is not the child that got burnt......this is my youngest grandson. This was his first time riding his cousin's toy. He would push the pedal but wouldn't put his hands on the steering wheel.
NO WORD FROM VIV ABOUT JACOB YET. This could mean many things......just hoping that she is worn out from holding and kissing him. I will post as soon as I see something from her.
My cat sitting is coming to an end. The cats are totally hiding from me. They are mostly outdoor cats and they haven't been outside in a week. I thought I killed their little fish. I was sure it was dead and was going to bury him today. But Fishy was swimming this morning. Thank goodness.
It has gotten me out and about. Yesterday I got some plants to finish up my planting. Not much for shade is there. I also made another fairy garden. I am excited as tomorrow is the Wine and Cheese Festival where I bought my house for the first garden two years ago. I am hoping that vendor is there this year.
Not many plans for the week-end as it is going to be hot and I am not feeling so hot right now either. Hope the rest of you have a super week-end.

Pray for Jacob

Please pray for Viv (of Viv out on a wim) and her family. Little baby Jacob will be born soon....probably tomorrow. The doctors expect there to be some difficulties when he arrives. So please pray for this little guy. Let us hope and pray that he is strong and healthy upon his arrival.
He looks a little scrunched in there. He has continued to grow and made it to term I think this says alot. Thanks Bloggy friends.

Good Bye Mountains

As of last night we are back in Ohio. Sure will miss those little grandchildren. This was a long visit this time. We really packed in alot of fun. Hope you don't get bored with all the pictures today and to follow.
We took one day to drive up the mountains to Keystone. My cousin, far left(Jo's brother), his wife and his daughter are working at The Keystone Science Camp. My cousin's son runs the camp. This is my daughter and her little guy. I got the short genes, didn't I? My daughter said it was going to be in the 90's that day. I questioned that esp. in the mountains. Well, it was in the 40's...........cold and even snowed a little.
Here we are above the tree line. Cold, snowy and very high.

This is at the camp. A storm was just ready to let loose.
Don't worry, there will be more pictures to come.
Just a couple of other things:
We had a dog sitter for one week then our youngest came and stayed. We never know what to expect when he stays here. In real life we are thankful that he can live on his own considering his challenges. Well he did well. At least we thought until I heard the cat. The cat had been in the spare bedroom for we don't know how long. Yes, she did. When you gotta go you gotta go. Still not sure where the smell is coming from but I am cleaning.
I am cat sitting now for the girl that did our dog sitting. I have been there twice and so far I haven't seen a cat. She never saw mine when she was here.
I also have the little girls today. A long day as I rescued their grandma that had been with them for 3 days. Their parents are due home soon from a trip out of town.
My flowers all survived. Well except the hosta.....the deer had those for dinner one evening.
So all is well just need to adjust to being home again. Can't wait to see the other granddaughters. It always takes me a few days to get over not seeing the other ones.
So, so long for now.

Oreo cookie photo shoot

What a bunch of clowns. Hmmmm must be in their genes. I just tried to get one good shot. How do the professional photographers do it, hah. I am just a point and shoot Grammy. I take lots of photos hoping their will be one good one. Guess, I need more practice.
In case you can't tell, we are having fun visiting.

My vintage finds and a little of the outdoors

First these are roses from my beautiful miniature rose bush.  This is the first year that it has bloomed so well.  They are in a cute little vase that I picked up at my favorite little shop White Cottage.

My vintage purchases from the Springfield Antique and Vintage Market.  Sweet sounding wind chimes.  The little blue star is made of tin and the chimes are spoons and etc.  They are attached by wire to an old old spindle.  Those are wild strawberries and tall grass for your viewing pleasure.  I decided to move the chimes around a little and think I like them placed near the little trike.  The little trike came with our adopted son when he moved in with us.  He had this, his loyal teddy bear named Joey, and a trash bag of clothes that didn't fit.  I wanted to repair it and never did, so I thought using it in my garden would make me smile.  Then the China Girl saw it.  She asked me what she could ride because I put that trike in the mud and she couldn't ride it.  Don't worry, I got out the riding toys and she was happy.  I have had the girls all week at random times.  They are in a dance recital this week-end, that I will miss.  Yesterday was her "hearsal" and of course she was riding the John Deer tractor in her full outfit .......oh my.......hope nothing got ruined.  She told me she was so excited about her"hearsal" and then said, What is  "hearsal."  When she came to pick up her sister she headed straight to the potty.  She came out stark naked the same time as My Cozy walked in.  Not like he hasn't had that experience before with 4 little granddaughters.
Oh, I got sidetracked, so sorry.
Next is the little vintage naked baby I bought for one dollar.  I wanted a small baby for a shadowbox I want to do.  This one was in a pile of other not so pretty dollies.  It's a drink and wet, hah.  And oh so dirty.  I sat her in the high chair that I bought last summer.  I spray painted it and was going to bring it inside for the girlies to play with.  I like it so well outdoors that I put a plant from my granddaughter on it by the door.  Dirty baby won't stay there but looked good in the picture.
I also found another old camera.  I want a small collection of them and I now have two.  I wish I would have kept all the cameras I have owned.
Okay, bloggy friends I need to get busy.  I still am watching children later today but tomorrow I am off.  I have quite a list of things to do BECAUSE Mr. Cozy and I are headed WEST on Saturday morning.  Early baby, we arrive at 8:30 a.m.  We have a dog sitter for part of the time and then our youngest will come and stay the last couple of days.  So I have to ready the house, write all kinds of notes, clean, do laundry, stop the mail, get my hair trimmed, pick up meds, water plants, do a little grocery shopping, pay bills.......guess who will sleep on the plane.  SO excited.  I haven't seen my two little families since December.  I don't usually go that long and I can't wait to see Eve, Patrick, Ann, and Ricco.  (all middle names)  Oh, and their mommies and daddies.  While we are there Patrick will turn 6.  I don't know if I will be posting while I am gone.  If not.......I'll be back in June.  Have a great Memorial Day.  Thanks to all that serve and the families that support them.
